Sydney Academy of Chess is always on the lookout for more chess coaches. Our chess coaches not only get reasonable pay, but are also entitled to other benefits such as discounts on chess goods and social events with other staff members.
Chess Coaching Requirements
To be able to coach chess, you must have some ability in chess. Having a high rating or a title will be a big advantage. Being a chess coach also involves alot of travelling to different schools. If you have a good understanding of chess, enjoy working with children, and don't mind travelling, chess coaching could be the job for you.
General Submission
Send in your resume and a cover letter with the following:
Chess experience/ previous tournament results
Latest ACF, FIDE or JCL chess rating
Transport method (car or public transport)
Where you live

- Experience (if any) as a chess coach and references (from schools, chess clubs, National Federations, etc.)
- Do you have any sample chess material (for example, a chessbase file) that you've edited yourself and used with some of your students which you could send us?
- What languages do you speak fluently?
